MHFS Advisory Group seminar

Prostate Cancer

Friday 7th November 2008

10:00hrs - 16:30hrs

NB: the seminar has been postponed until March 2009

Venue:

The Albany Learning & Conference Centre

44 Ashley Street

Glasgow

G3 6DS

The seminar is being organised in partnership with The Prostate Cancer Charity Scotland.  Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the UK, but a recent poll conducted by MORI showed that 7 out of 10 men surveyed didn't know what their prostate did.  Prostate cancer is a disease of complexity and uncertaintly, which makes it hard to create useful and clear health messages.  The seminar aims to share knowledge and focus on three key areas:

  • Raising awareness of prostate cancer: current knowledge, issues and approaches
  • What works?  Learning from other sectors with successful health awareness campaigns
  • Men's response to illness

This event is free and is open to everyone on the MHFS mailing list or anyone who is working in men's health.

The closing date for registration is Friday 31st October.  We have limited places which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  Please note that there will be a non-attendance free of £65 if you register but do not attend.  Cancellations must be made by Wednesday 5th November.

You can register on-line using the link below or email the booking form to maureen@mhfs.org.uk or post to:
